Back from taiwan trip!! Pretty enriching trip :) Tried many things that i did not dare to try before, such as horse riding! It was really a great experience, though my thighs were a bit sore after that... haha. The horse was really big though, I need to climb up a couple of steps before i could really hop on to the horse. 5 bucks for 2 rounds across the field, totally worthwhile! Thinking back, it wasnt really that scary though, i guessed that my thoughts haf been running slightly too wild. My sis kept on telling me that the taiwanese model fell off the horse and injured her spine... blah blah... Haha, so it can be expected that i didnt really look like i was enjoying myself. Mom said that i looked as pale as a sheet on the pics that were taken.. LOL.. cant wait to see that! Some pics are still not uploaded yet, wait till my sis figures out how to upload them. >.< So the pics that i have included in this entry would be from jess's camera.
The scenery in taiwan is really fabulous! The seas and lakes are crystal clear, unlike those muddy waters in singapore! Laughs :) I have pics to prove that :D
I was so amazed when jess told me that we just past by pacific ocean! Nv would i dream that one day i would be so close to it! It reminds me of the times during my geography class, and i haf to memorise the names of the oceans: atlantic ocean, indian ocean, pacific ocean... etc. I always haf this mentality that these oceans are in these faraway land... somewhere in europe, and i'll nv haf a chance to even see them. So this is really a brand new experience for me, and i m really amazed by the beauty of nature.
Tried out the hot spring in taiwan as well, but it was not really what i expected. I expected the water to be really hot and that my skin would be all red after soaking a while. However, it was not hot at all, "warm" should be the more appropriate word to describe it. Mom was chiding me before that because we were supposed to leave the hotel for the hot spring at 830pm.. but me and my cousin dragged and dragged and we finally left at 915. haha. cant really blame us at all, because we were mesmerized by the fireworks in the sky :) It was really really captivating. Sadly there are no pics to capture the fireworks, we were too busy appreciating them. They come in flashes of yellow, blue and red. It also seems like the norm for them to light up fireworks..
On the 7th day, we went to this aboriginal village called : jiu3 zu2 wen2 hua4 cun1
From the outside, it appears really shabby and run down. That's not true at all! When u go further down into the village, it's actually this majestic theme park! It's also known as a miniature disneyland. Call me a scaredy cat, but i only tried out 5 rides among those countless ones. only 2 rides out of the 5 were challenging ones... hahah... i know i haf a weak heart. Tried viking and space mountain, the latter is this indoor roller-coaster that lasts about 3 mins or so. Pretty fast, but freaky. It feels as if u are going to fly out if u do not hold on to the metal bar that's infront of u. My cousin doesnt seem frightened at all, applaud for her boldness! She actually asked me to go for this water-based ride with her, but i didnt haf the guts to try it out. I do not really know how to descibe it, but it kind of rotate at very high speed and alas u get soaked into water.. hah... a pretty lousy description. Sometimes i like the feel of adrenaline rush, but in times of this, i guess i'll rather not haf it. haha, guess age must be catching up with me? LOL...
A minus point abt taiwan is that most of the dishes are cooked with pork. Not a good thing for pple who detest or abstain from pork. I guess that's y i seldom see muslims in taiwan. Another thing is that, they do not really provide chilli. They are in love with sweet stuff. Haha. Taiwan is also not elderly-friendly. The toilets there are mainly squat-style and there are plenty of stairs. Lifts seemed alien over there, except in hotels. Dad had a hard time during the first few days, especially in ximending, because we took such a long time to find a toilet. This explains y my dad was feeling pretty grouchy during the first few days. During most of the days, we stayed at this hotel called HOWARD HOTEL,a 5-star hotel. call me a country bumpkin, but i was really excited when i saw that they had 2 king sized beds in one room :) I was overjoyed! They even provided a plasma tv in the hotel. So this is one good thing abt going overseas with a tour package. It makes sure that u get the best out of it. U really get when u paid for.
What fascinates me abt taiwan is that there are many tribes in there, such as: ah-mei zu and shao zu. Those were the two that we visited along our way. The aborigines are great singers and dancers. They have nice figures too! Especially the guys, with their tanned body and nice abs :D what else can we ask for? laughs*
Although there were conflicts among my family during the trip, we mananged to resolve them and enjoyed ourselves whole-heartedly. All thanks to the taiwanese tour guide: miss shirley, and also to my beloved tour leader: ivy :) haha she's a pretty bubbly girl who loves me so much! haha... alright that's all i gotta say, taiwan rocks!
