Breadman's 25th

Being the best girl friend on earth that all men could possibly ask for (haha so thickskinned!), I decided to pamper breadman by whipping up a self-cooked meal and preparing my very first birthday cake for him. As I suck at baking, I decided to take the easy way out by making a non-bake one. Tiramisu, it shall be! (As it is my favourite cake as well...). So I happily went to cold storage to grab the ingredients. Turns out that it isnt cheap! 27 bucks in total! My mom says it would be cheaper if I bought the cake from a bakery instead. But that's different... it isnt the same without effort put in.

In order to ensure that my cake is edible, I decided to test it out first. That's why I always bake twice. I need to ensure that it is in a presentable state. My only complaint: It's so hard to mix the eggs till they are white in colour by hand! I need an electric mixer please... The first round of tiramisu.

It looks so cute, with the sponge fingers at the side. The other complaint was that the sponge fingers were coated with sugar, not the plain ones that I needed. That's why I had to reduce the amount of sugar from 100 g to 70g. And he doesnt exactly have a sweet tooth like me, so I had to be more thoughtful. The cake tastes pretty fine, but the inner layers are so undefined. A whole mashed up look.
Round 2 of cake making... The actual cake! Doesnt the cake look nice with the gold ribbon around it?

Put two layers of sponge fingers in this instead of the original three layers, thus I had excess batter. Put them into these small cups instead! The benefits of making them in cups are that it's neater, less messy and of a smaller serving. Maybe next time i should consider making them in cups instead.
Besides the cake, there's also a meal that I prepared for breadman. Second time cooking for the family, so it's good that the food are edible. Haha...The eggs got burnt. Fish stew has no stew. My only successful dish would be the potatoes which my dad said are at the correct softness.

Time to sing the birthday song and to cut the cake! A pity that the birthday boy had to start off the singing himself and I followed suit, a bit paiseh for me to sing when there are family members in the house. Eh, next time when we have the privacy, you can hear me sing, as many times as you wish, maybe you can see me dance as well, for your eyes only. Hahahha.

Breadman has a problem with smiling. You need to cue him to smile.

Now you finally see me smile :) Small beady eyes.. suddenly he looks like hamtaro to me. Hahha

Vincent Yeh, Oh yeah! My private joke...

Now you see me smile,  now you dunt!
You are how old? He doesnt look much like 25, more like a teenager playing dress up, which is good, since youthfulness is desirable. Notice that there are no photos of us together... Fret not, here's me with my shortest haircut ever!

I am so in love with my pearly whites... hahha. Oh no, I think I know where the 1.2kg that I have put on goes to... My face!

Happy 25th in advance, breadman... you know there is bound to be more celebrations with me around, bound to be loss of privacy. I know you are gonna go nuts when you see your pics all over this post. Well, as you always say, SMILE :)
