Balloon Carnival at Marina Square

Checked out the balloon carnival at Marina Square on 16 March, which was also the second last day of the event. I always learnt of fun stuff at the last minute! An interesting fact I learnt during the carnival: It is the biggest balloon themed carnival yet so far! Eh, but it merely covered the whole atrium of Marina Square, in my opinion that isnt very large scale yet. Probably what they meant was the number of balloons used throughout the carnival, instead. I took a few pics from level two, which gives an overall bird eye's view of the colourful display. Why balloons of all things? Perhaps because March holidays are just around the corner, so this serves to lure the kids to the shopping mall, and for parents to spend money to buy cutely shaped but pricey balloons for them ! Not just kids, even I myself were pretty much captivated by the balloons on sale. My favourite one is the one of a wearable sunflower hat! Next is the mermaid one, priced at 35 bucks! WHAT? So much just for a few pieces of rubber latex? If it's 5 bucks maybe I will consider getting one for myself. Haha. Okay, to cut the long story short, I spent probably half an hour or less to comb through the atrium, not once but twice. Cuz I was trying to find a nice spot to take photographs, but was too nice to cut queues cuz there were so many children in there! Had much fun because it is reminiscent of those good old childhood days when I feel overjoyed and thrilled whenever I receive balloons, even if it is those POSB or NLB freebies for children. So much for technology these days.... it's kind of sad to see children only indulging their time in mobile phones, tablets, PSP, or other technological gadgets. Sometimes, we can find joy from the simplest things in life. Next time if I do have a kid, I gotta let her (I always want to have a girl), appreciate these small stuff in life. Important life lessons that I must inculcate in her. And NO to mobile phones in primary school. I had my first phone in Secondary school. So my kid gotta have it then, not earlier. Here are some of the colourful photos I took to flood this space!

Spot a carousel, ferris wheel, choo choo train, octopus, rollercoaster and many hot air balloons in there! Of all displays, my favourite one is still the hot air balloon, the unreachable. haha... I like the rainbow colours. I always love the rainbow because of its 7 colours. Roy of York gains battle in vain. Still remember this catchy liner? I always do! There are always some stuff from school that I will never forget. Another one: My very elegant mother just served us nine pizzas! Ring a bell?

Close up of the ferris wheel. The colours arent that well coordinated in my opinion.
Colourful tree with twining branches. Few people took photographs with this one.
Green octopus says Gloob Gloob Gloob.
Train. The face reminds me of Bob Dog.

The not-so-like roller coaster. It is impressive to me though, with the twirls and carriages.
I actually like these individual rollercoaster carriages. Haha.

The purple horse in the carousel. Did I reveal that I love to sit in a carousel? Very princessy to me... hahah.
Another horsie, this time in yellow.

The balloons on sale. Look, that's Ariel the mermaid. Grab her for 35 bucks!
Breadman exerting his utmost effort to smile. Probably I should offer him free smiling classes!
I always smile with my teeth shown. I cant recall how many teeth a person must reveal in order to consider it as a perfect smile. A full set of upper row teeth shouldnt be seen because that would mean you smile too widely! Not elegant. Heck la, as long as the photos turned out fine who cares how many teeth u show?
