Work Chronicles

Day 10 of work: Today's 14 april and I am almost half a month into this new job, if you count the actual number of days I have worked, excluding the weekends, it should be 10 days to be exact. Today didnt start off that well because I received news regarding the demise of a resident. It is particularly shocking because he was always chit chatting with others and appeared well. I last talked to him few days ago before the transfer of his ward. Some say it was because he was unable to cope with the room transfer which took place a few days ago and it caused him to be depressed. However, we wont know the truth so I shouldnt speculate. It's just kind of sad because it happened so sudden. He was a chatterbox and he talked to me for the longest time during our interview session. He was one of the first few residents whom I talked to. He was impressionable to me because of the sexually suggestive nature of the conversation. Overall, he was very cooperative and interactive and I am kind of sad to hear that he has passed on. Rest in peace. May you be in a better place. Before I entered into this field and accepted this job, I knew this was to be expected. My superior pre-empted me too. However when it really happened, I cant help but to be affected by it. I wasnt extremely affected such that I cant function at work, but I guess I just feel a little sad. After all we chatted quite a while a week back. Hope his family is able to cope with the news. Let's hope tomorrow will start on with a good note.
