Day 19 of work: a resident came apologizing to me after I stopped talking to him for 2 days. Haha.. Didn't know I m so impactful. It all started cuz I received complaints abt him kicking other residents. I received 3 complaints abt him. So I went to enquire him regarding this issue. I didn't expect him to flare up when I broached this topic. He was saying: u r new here n u dunno anything, n u are inclined to listen to other residents. Then he got more worked up n angry n asked me to go away. Says he dun wanna talk to me. So, I heed his advice n I didn't interact with him for 2 days. Haha. I didn't do that to spite him, but I wasn't sure if he has cooled down or not n I wouldn't want another thrashing from him. So today, while I was doing my morning rounds, he gingerly wheeled his wheelchair next to me, gave me his widest smile n apologised to me. Hahaha. He didn't exactly say sorry but he said it was his fault for losing his temper. He felt bad because for e past few days he saw me talking to other residents, but not him. This is really a genuine response from him n I applaud him for his bravery. Not many people can apologize face to face or own up to their mistakes. I find it really cute when he did that today! Probably, I mattered to him because I used to talk to him daily before this little tiff between us happened. It's still really nice for his gesture. This little incident totally made my day! Apart from that, another resident thanked me for letting her participate in mahjong games. Yes, words are indeed really powerful. Thanks ah aunties n uncles!
