Probably the title doesnt sound so appropriate, since I do not have my own room. It refers to our common room, otherwise known as the study room in which we put mainly books and personal barang barang. My sisters' wardrobes are in there, luckily mine's not. Mine is located in my parents' room and it's more spacious and airy. As the windows in the study room are perpetually closed, air circulation is poor and the room is stuffy and dusty. Thus, when I am clearing this room, I need to put on a mask, otherwise my poor nose gotta suffer again.
Here are some surprised finds during my cleaning session:
I didnt know I have so many existing notebooks! All of them are new, some are even wrapped in packaging. Guess which one is my favourite of all? It's the one on the extreme right, the pugilistic one. I bought it for $1.50 from Shenzhen during my exchange trip.
My existing perfume collection. From left (back row): Victoria Secrets' Pink, two unknown bottles Sister got for me during her trip to USA, Salvatore Ferragamo's Incanto Shine, Lacoste's Touch of Pink. From left (front row): Salvatore Ferragamo's Incanto Bliss, Salvatore Ferragamo's Incanto Shine again, Victoria Secrets' Plum mist, Moschino's Hippy Fizz. Front row of two dolls: Gwen Stefani's Music and Gwen Stefani's Snow Bunnies Collection Love. Arent these dolls cute? I am going to keep them when I am done with them. Actually I am only using 2 at the moment, Incanto Shine and Gwen Stefani's Love. Note to all: Please DO NOT get me perfumes for any occasion, unless you are sure it's the scent I fancy or I ask you to get it for me. After I am done with all these perfumes, I am going to lay my hands on Moschino's Funny. I have been wanting to get it for years! Told my fren about it and she got me Moschino's Hippy Fizz because she told me Funny's a pretty old scent and the one she got was the latest. Eh , turns out that I dun quite like Hippy Fizz because i am not a fan of floral scents. I didnt like Bliss either.. because of its after smell. Very strong and overpowering. My kind of scent is the fruity or sweet smelling kind. Nothing too strong though.
I must admit that I fell in love with the bottle first, before I fell in love with the scent. But well, it's all the same! Still means falling in love. I am going to keep this bottle when it's finished. So cute right! I am a ribbon lover, or as my mom always pronounces "leh-bin" lover. Most of my shoes have the leh-bin as design. Haha. It always makes me laugh so hard when I hear her pronounce that.
And you arent going to believe what I found! Yes, I found my DIARY!Many many exclamation marks!!!!! I didnt know I had a diary with me! I thought the last one I had was during my secondary school days and I had it thrown away cuz I couldnt stand how childish my writing was. Last time most of the entries were about complaining school work, friends and all the nonsense boy girl relationships. So when I found this, I was both shocked and happy. Initially, I thought this is just another of my notebooks and I almost wanted to put it together with the rest. Until I looked at the contents to realise that this is my diary! No, this is not the one from Secondary School. This is the new one from Junior College onwards.
This is the exterior of my diary. Interesting design right? It was a birthday gift from my Nepal penpal, Ayut, who sent it to me all the way from USA, where he was studying his degree.
The interior of the diary. It is made of recycled paper. My penpal has nice cursive handwriting right? Eh, but sometimes I find it hard to make out the words cuz he wrote in pencil.
Okay, you are most probably going to laugh, but there is only one entry in my diary and it was dedicated to my mom, or mama, as I personally address her. Here's the first page of the entry which I decide to share:
Did not post the full entry cuz it is too much of a grandmother story. Plus the gist is all in the first page. My handwriting is totally disgusting. The chinese characters look even much worse! Haha. To think that I represented my primary school for penmenship competition before (without winning prize of course haha). It was written in year 2008 and I think my handwriting has vastly improved over the years. Although my family has an open system, we never wear our heart on our sleeves. Thus, we wouldnt tell each other we love and appreciate each other. It's strange, but I can do that to others, just not to family. So this is the only way in which I express my love. And probably you should know by now, I love to express myself with writing. When I told my ma ma about her being the topic of my first diary entry, she was elated! Haha. Her thick skinned reply was : 我几时有对你们不好? (When did I ever treat you guys badly?) True enough, but when her nagging is incessant, it is pretty torturous to us, to our poor ears. Anyway, I left my second entry, penning down my thoughts, emotions plus my messed up life at the moment. I am not sure which day I will go back to this diary again to realise that it is A DIARY. It is the feelings associated with a surprise find that makes reading past diary entries enjoyable.
My cupboard. Neat right? Oh darn! Should haf captured the Before picture for comparison purposes. Merely did the rearranging of stuffs instead of dumping stuff. Stuff I threw: Photo frames, letters, flowers, erasers, sticker album, expired make-up, old earrings. Can you spot the humpty dumpties? There are two of them, the young and the old one. I love them :) Got it from Macdonald's Kids' Meal. Alright, I hope I can keep my stuff in this state for a longer time! It's hard to have to rummage through my belongings to find something I need.
